The Sheriff’s Department has released more details surrounding the shooting that happened in the northwest portion of Cumberland County early this week. Around 6pm Monday night, Deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the yard of a home in the 4300 block of Glade Creek Road. Upon arrival they discovered 39-year-old William Lee Kirby, Jr., whose address is in the 1300 block of Glade Creek Road, with a gunshot wound to the left calf and a gunshot wound to the right foot. According to reports, 60-year-old John L. While Deputies cleared the home for any other suspects possibly involved, they found two small children inside the house. The Sheriff’s Department report states that verbal consent was given to search Mr. Johnson’s bedroom where the gun was. Mr. Johnson also reportedly gave consent to search a safe beside the bed that contained a small bag with a crystal like substance believed to be Methamphetamine and another bag with a green substance believed to be Marijuana. According to Deputy Jason Powers’ report, he was advised by Investigator Bo Kollros to cite Mr. Johnson for possession of a controlled substance.
