No injuries were reported after a fire broke out Saturday afternoon at the Perdue Farms plant in Monterey, Tennessee. The call went out around 4:15 p.m. and 22 units responded from Putnam, Overton and Cumberland Counties. Crews were able to contain the blaze to one building. The official cause of the fire has not been released but news outlets report that a faulty vent fan is suspected. All departments except where the blaze occurred are on a normal schedule.
