Multiple cancelations and postponements have been made for University of Tennessee Athletics after recent COVID-19 surges.
The Tennessee Volunteers football team announced its rivalry game with Vanderbilt Commodores has been postponed. The SEC has announced that December 19th is a possible rescheduling date for the Commodores & Vols game however nothing has been made official.
Rick Barnes and his 12th ranked Volunteers have canceled 4 games due to multiple positive tests include Coach Barnes and multiple UT Players. These games include Wednesdays matchup against Charlotte, Fridays game against VCU, and both marquee games against 1st ranked Gonzaga and Notre Dame. The Vols season opener is now on December 12th against Cincinnati in Knoxville.
The Lady Volunteers also announced that their season opener game against Florida A&M has been canceled after the Rattlers of Florida A&M have opted out of their entire season after concerns of COIVD-19. Coach Kellie Harper will now lead her Lady Volunteers against Western Kentucky this Saturday November 28th at 2:00 PM
