Cumberland County’s November unemployment rate fell 1.7 percent from October to 5.7 percent, which is 1.4 percent higher than the November 2019 rate of 4.3 percent. Each of Tennessee’s 95 counties experienced decreased unemployment in November 2020, according to new data the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). Statewide, Tennessee experienced significantly lower unemployment during November and the preliminary, seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 5.3. The new statistic is just 2 percentage points higher than the state’s unemployment rate one year ago in November.
