Fentress Co. Woman Pleads In 2019 Fatal Shooting Of Lake Tansi Woman

A Fentress County woman has pleaded guilty for her role in the 2019 murder of an elderly woman in her Lake Tansi residence, the Crossville Chronicle reports.  On Friday (2/5/2021) 37-year-old Doneal Marie Clark, of Clarkrange, entered the guilty plea to an information charging felony murder of 74-year-old Linda Lou Damewood.   Authorities say Ms. Damewood was fatally shot in the head in a dispute over drugs.  In addition, Clark pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree murder of Damewood’s 63-year-old brother and 73-year-old sister who also lived in the Lake Tansi home.

The Crossville Chronicle reports that Clark’s husband, Kirk Douglas Clark, 37, remains charged for his role in the murder of Damewood and the theft of items from her home, is scheduled to appear in Criminal Court on February, 22, 2021.
