The SMHS Lady Panthers and the CCHS Lady Jets advance with wins in Region Tournament play Friday night.
Region 3AAA
The Stone Memorial High School Panthers ended East Hamilton’s season as the Lady Panthers rolled to a 62-39 home win over the Hurricanes Friday night. SMHS, now 23 and 4 this season, will host White County in the semi-finals Monday night. The Warriorettes advanced as they posted a 55-39 win at McMinn County. Also in Region 3AAA play, Bradley Central cruised past Warren County 60-16 and Cookeville beat Cleveland 55-38.
The SMHS Panthers will open Region play Saturday (2/27) at 6:00 as they travel to East Hamilton to take on the Hurricanes. Stone Memorial High School action airs live on Mix 99.3.
Region 4AA
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jets used a 17-0 run in the first quarter and went on to beat the Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats at CCHS Friday night 54-42. The win, the Lady Jets 20th this season, moves them on to the semi-finals Monday night as they host Macon County. The Lady Tigers beat Grundy County Friday 82-54. Other games Friday in Region 4AA; Upperman downed Marion County 87-33 and York Institute won at Sequatchie County 70-53.
