The Cumberland County Sherriff’s Office reports that Deputies were dispatched to Oak Crest Lane for a burglary in progress where the property owner held the suspects at gun point. When Deputies arrived they ordered the property owner to drop their weapon, Deputies then entered the residence and made contact with the suspects Brandon McDonald and Hailey Wyatt. After speaking to suspects McDonald admitted to breaking into the residence because they were homeless and needed a place to stay overnight. Deputies observed damage to the front door lock and located a screwdriver in Wyatt’s hand. After a search of persons it was reveled that McDonald and Wyatt were in possession of multiple burglary tools including picks, files, screwdrivers, and a hand saw. Deputies also found a black magnetic box containing white residue, a spoon with a white crystalline residue, a syringe, and a burnt cigarette containing a green leaf substance believed to be marijuana. The Deputies placed Brandon McDonald and Hailey Wyatt under arrest and transported them to the Cumberland County Sherriff’s Office. McDonald and Wyatt were arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools.
