According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office an Officer was patrolling the area of Airport Rd. in the Westel community. The officer fell in behind a gold Saturn and ran the license plate that came back to a Kia Sportage instead of a Saturn. The Officer initiated their blue lights to make a traffic stop as the vehicle was turning off Airport Rd. onto the westbound I-40 get on ramp. The driver of the Saturn accelerated and swerved in his lane as he got onto I-40. When the Officer used his sirens the Saturn reached a speed over 100 MPH while passing other motorists. The Saturn got off the 338 exit ramp and drove through the parking lot of Terri’s Market where responding officers boxed in the vehicle. A search of the gold Saturn revealed a backpack in the back seat that contained a black case with a syringe, numerous unused blue baggy’s, a set of digital scales and a gold colored scoop type tool that contained crystal residue. The two inside the Saturn were the driver Stern Stevens and passenger Nina Diebel. Mr. Stevens was charged an arrested with felony manufacturer and delivery of Meth, Suspended License, and Evading Arrest. Nina Diebel was arrested and charged with public intoxication after admitting to be under the influence of Suboxone that was not prescribed to her.
