According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with a Cumberland County resident who said they received a text saying if they played this game they could win a Samsung Galaxy S21. The victim played the game and it said they had won. After winning they were asked to pay $1 for an entry fee and $38.99 for shipping for the new phone. The victim paid the amount and never received the phone. The victim then called the number that sent the link. The victim states that the person who answered was a male who had a foreign accent. The subject stated that they did not win the phone but purchased more chances to play the game. The victim told the subject that they would be filing the scam with law enforcement and the male got extremely upset.
