Pop-Up Camper Stolen in Cumberland County

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office a Deputy observed a vehicle halfway in the ditch and halfway in the road and a pop-up camper in the middle of the road. The Deputy spoke with a man who stated when he turned off Sparta Highway onto Old Highway 70 the camper came off the hitch. The man said he was taking his family camping in Gatlinburg. The Deputy did run the Vin Number on the camper and at that time it did not come back as stolen. A couple hours later the Deputy was dispatched to Taylor’s Chapel Rd for a report of a stolen pop-up camper. After speaking with the victim who stated that they went outside and noticed the camper was no longer there. After looking at the Vin Number on the title it was confirmed to be the pop-up camper the man was in possession of earlier.
