A Sparta man with an active arrest warrant out of Putnam County has been apprehended in White County on a host of drug and weapons charges. According to the White County Sheriff’s Department, deputies spotted a vehicle matching one driven by Shane Daniel Gray in the parking lot of a Sparta motel. Authorities say a search of Mr. Gray’s room resulted in the discovery of a loaded Ruger pistol that was confirmed to be stolen out of Warren County, Tennessee, miscellaneous plastic containers with powder residue inside, glass pipe(s), a digital scale, a grinder, a clear plastic bag containing green plant like material believed to be marijuana, as well as 1,938.5 grams of a liquid that field tested positive for Methamphetamine. The search of Gray’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded black Glock 9mm hand gun with a magazine containing 30+ rounds of ammunition, and a loaded 12-gauge Shotgun. Shane Daniel Gray was arrested and transported to White County Jail. His bond was set at $175,000 and he is awaiting future court proceedings.
