Monterey Man Allegedly Hits Truck, Leaves Scene Of Accident

A Monterey man faces multiple charges after he allegedly hit a truck on Sunday and left the scene of the accident. Crossville Police were dispatched to Volunteer Gas Station on Peavine Road in reference to a reckless driver. Police located a green Chevrolet Blazer in the old Bean Pot parking lot.  The Blazer was driven by 34-year-old Christopher Ryan Phillips who appeared to be intoxicated.  As police were conducting an investigation a truck driver approached and stated Phillips hit the trailer of his truck causing it to jackknife.  The truck driver said people were walking in the area when this occurred. Phillips was placed into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center where he was charged with Driving Under The Influence, Driving On A Revoked Driver’s License, Reckless Endangerment, Altering A License Plate and Leaving The Scene Of An Accident.
