Local Teen Dies In I-40 Crash

A local teenager lost his life in a crash on I-40 Monday afternoon.  Seventeen-year-old Ian Honcoop, a Stone Memorial High School senior, was driving eastbound on I-40 when traffic stopped suddenly due to a vehicle pulling into the crossover near miler marker 324.   THP reports the vehicle in front of Honcoop was able to stop, but was struck in the rear by Honcoop’s 2000 Buick LeSabre.  Honcoop’s vehicle spun and came to rest in the roadway and the teen passed away from his injuries.   The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were also hurt, the extent of their injuries was not immediately reported.
