Rutherford County Teen Dies After Being Shot In Abdomen

A 17-year-old Rutherford County girl has died after what police are calling an accidental shooting. It happened Wednesday. The Blackman High School senior was shot in the abdomen at a home on Link Road.  Her boyfriend called 911 as he was attempting to take her to the hospital.  Instead, he met deputies in the parking lot of a middle school for immediate treatment.  She was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where she died.  No charges have been filed and the investigation continues
